Lessons
Flatwork and jumping lessons are available throughout the week and weekends to suit with times dependent on daylight hours. We have a 20mx40m all weather outdoor sand arena with our own jumps, wings and horse agility equipment.
Whether you would like a one off grid work lesson to brush up on your jumping or maybe regular dressage lessons to improve your position, all needs can be catered for with all ages and abilities of rider welcome. We are also happy to help with any particular schooling issues you might be having with your horse whether it be physical or psychological.
We are heavily involved in the local pony club and are also available for clinics for local riding clubs. Please contact to discuss your needs.

Breaking and Schooling
Breaking and schooling takes up the bulk of our working hours in the day here at C&E Equestrian. We have a limited number of spaces so bookings should be made as far in advance as possible to allow us to have space for your horse.
We will take breakers from totally unhandled/wild to halter broken and leading but if there has been any effort to break them in the past they will be banded under the term "re-starting or re-breaking" and this needs to be stated. The process of breaking in your horse does not in any was involve the old fashioned "breaking the spirit" of the horse. We aim to create willing happy riding partners that will continue on to have fulfilled lives due the positive experience that they have had with us. Breaking in requires many different elements of training not just teaching the horse to accept a rider on their back and understand the aids. We make sure they are respectful on the ground and comfortable having their legs handled and feet picked out (and they can be shod on request). Additionally we teach them to load into and off of a trailer effectively. They are also exposed to agility equipment in hand and ridden and various other equipment to desensitise them to noises and movements and general things that horses find spooky.
We offer extremely reasonable full livery when your horse is in for any form of training full time being worked every day. This is to make it affordable for everyone. If you wish to have your horse broken to ride or schooled at C&E equestrian please don't hesitate to contact and we will email a form for you to fill in.
Restarting/Remedial Horses
We also take horses for re-starting and remedial horses with ridden or handling issues. This is subject to space but we will always try and help a horse and owner if we think it's necessary.
The re-starting will follow a similar pattern as breaking from scratch but if we have some idea of what the horses found difficult when being broken the first time then we can find the most effective way to work them through these issues and make them a happier ridden horse. If the horse has been broken by us and turned away for the winter then restarting is much simpler.
Remedial horses will be considered as long as we have had a full medical and behavioural history of the horse. If for any reason we believe an owner is being dishonest about a dangerous behavioural issue we will send the horse home rapidly. We need as much information as possible and withholding important details could cause us to get injured when dealing with horses that have potentially dangerous behavioural problems.
Obviously horses who for one reason or another have had a break from riding and need to be restarted are also welcome and just like breaking in we will ask the owner to fill in a form so we have as many details about the horse as possible.

Leading/Loading
We offer a halter breaking service where we can teach the horse to come into pressure, move out of your space in both directions by moving the four corners of the horse, and teach them to back up effectively. This can be done at our yard or we can travel depending on whereabouts.
We offer a loading service for horses who have issues with loading onto trailers and horseboxes. Quite often loading issues come hand in hand with leading issues and groundwork needs to be put in place before the loading can be addressed. We charge by the hour for this service with the first hour cheaper than additional hours. A form will need to be filled in and sent back to us before we come out to assess your horse with any bad loading behaviours or experiences stated.

Desensitising
We specialise in desensitising horses and ponies to as many objects, sounds and movements as we can. We do this as standard procedure when horses are in for breaking as part of the process. We have found that this greatly benefits them making more confident well rounded individuals.
We also take older ridden horses in for desensitising using our agility equipment and stock whip and flags to help reduce spookiness and improve handling on the ground and trust in humans.
We do clinics on the agility equipment if and when we have enough people interested. Keep an eye on our facebook page or group in order to see when they will be taking place or contact us via email to find out more.
